Website and App Design for Mercedes-Benz (North America)
PROJECT SUMMARY:
These screens showcase the enhancements developed for the Mercedes-me Companion App, tailored to models from 2019 or newer in North America. This app establishes a connection between the user's smartphone and their vehicle, enabling access to a wide array of information remotely. This includes details like mileage or battery charge, and facilitating remote commands such as vehicle pre-heating, locking or unlocking, and locating the car.
MY ROLE:
My role was to improve the overall UI design and collaborate on UX solutions.
Throughout the project, I also collaborated closely with developers, an ACD / content designer, a UX lead, and key Mercedes-me stakeholders.
CHALLENGES:
Increase user engagement and sustain their interest in exploring the app more frequently to augment revenue through purchases of extra services and promos besides utilizing the app’s regular functions.
OUTCOMES:
A unique strategy introduced during this project involved changing the landscape image each quarter aligning with the change of seasons. By doing so, we fostered engagement for future promotions and extra services showcased within the app.
Overall, I presented various ideas and insights, to address ongoing requests besides this specific project and pro-actively provided suggestions to improve accessibility. For instance, I enhanced Bluetooth’s icon readability and made it easier for users to distinguish between its ON and OFF states.
